  Klasifikasi dari Ikan Ketang-Ketang ( Scatophagus argus ) yaitu seperti berikut : kingdom : animalia Filum : Chordata class : actinopterygii ordo : perciformes family : scatophagidae genus : Scatophagus spesies : Scatophagus argus Wujud ikan ketang-ketang/ kiper serupa dng ikan discus sehinga ikan kiper juga jadikan ikan hias untuk beberapa orang. Hiu Hitam Air Tawar (Black Shark)

Tanda-tanda utama dari ikan ini yaitu mempunyai warna hitam di sekujur badannya. Pada mulutnya ada dua gunakan barbel atau sungut yang kecil. Mempunyai sirip-sirip yang lebar serta panjang serta juga mempunyai sirip punggung yang meninggi seperti sirip ikan hiu hingga ikan ini dinamai shark atau hiu.
